It is inexcusable that so many men and women who have fought for this country are unable to get the help that they need and end up on the streets. Those brave individuals should be at the very top of the list when the government is handing out assistance, but for some reason they are not. I have a friend who suffered a traumatic brain injury while deployed and he is now disabled and struggles to navigate everyday life. About two years ago there was a misunderstanding which resulted in a warrant for his arrest being issued. He never even knew about it, no one came looking for him, he was at his house the entire time. Eventually he was picked up on it and it was immediately squashed. But when the powers that be heard about it they determined that he had been receiving his check while he was a fleeing felon and they penalized him close to $50,000! So now he has been 6 months without any income and the poor guy has lost everything, his home, all his belongings, his vehicle. It is sad. Now he Carrie’s his belongings in a backpack and goes from place to place, staying anywhere he can for a night or two. And due to his TBI he sometimes doesn’t act normal which makes it harder for him to find anyone willing to take him in. Is this anyway to treat someone who was injured and disabled for life while serving their country overseas? To try to help him and many others with similar circumstances we are raising money for our “Homes 4 Heroes” program. It will provide homeless veterans with a permanent home. For around $5000 we can provide them with a prefab container home that is theirs for life. It has everything they need, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom. And it’s 100% paid for so they don’t have to worry about it being taken from them. If you would like to help provide a forever home to a homeless veteran who needs it and deserves it make a tax deductible donation to Help4Heroes at your earliest convenience. Thank you
